Tonino PERNA

President and CEO, I.T. Holding SpA

He obtained his high-school diploma from the Naples Academy of Fine Arts. After having concluded his military service he started producing and marketing jeans. During the early 70’s the Perna industry was distributing its products nationwide and already had more than 100 workers. Within 7/8 years revenues had grown to approximately 100 million Euro and production had been expanded to include high-quality products. At the beginning of the 80’s he identified there was a growth opportunity with the most successful designer brands. He made available to the most prestigious brands of the “made in Italy” circuit a production and distribution structure capable of sustaining the notoriousness of these brands. This gave birth to Ittierre S.p.A. which became a subsidiary of IT Holding S.p.A. in 2001. Mr. Perna, from 1992 to 1994 was Chairman of the Association of Industrial Entrepreneurs – textile/apparel sector – of the Molise Region. From 1996 to 1998 he held the position of Chairman of the Banca Popolare del Molise S.p.a.

Mr. Perna is now Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of IT Holding S.p.A. a company listed on the Milan Stock Exchange, which operates with owned brands Ferré, Malo and Exté and licensed brands, Versace Jeans Couture, Versace Sport, Just Cavalli. C’N’C Costume National and Galliano. In December 1999, thanks to his passion for art, he became a member of the International Director’s Council of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York. In February 2000 he was awarded an honorary degree in economics by the University of Sannio in Benevento. In April 2004 he became a member of the Executive Committee of the National Chamber of Italian Fashion.
