Stefano RONCHETTI
Chairman & CEO Marzorati Ronchetti SpA
Stefano Ronchetti studied at the De Amicis College in Cantù, gaining his technical institute diploma at the same college (to avoid leaving a school to which he was much attached). He enrolled in Political Science at the Catholic University when Gianfranco Miglio was the dean (but did not complete his studies, much to his regret).
After joining the family company he initially dealt with wide-ranging matters, from factory organisation to production.
In 1992, he set up Metals with art direction by Aldo Petillo, Davide Mercatali and Eliana Lorena.
The company's aim was to produce design objects and distribute them around the world through retail channels, with the involvement of artists and architects who were free to design whatever they liked.
This enterprise had been planned and launched with Marco Gorini, current administrator of Strato Cucine.
In 1994, Stefano Ronchetti purchased HI-design, a branch of Patrizio Corno and Renata Calzi’s company launching a new brand of furnishing accessories known as Nomade.
He also became the Italian distributor of Amat, the Spanish company making chairs and tables for public areas.
In the same year he founded the Ron Arad Studio, a company with offices in London and Cantù dealing with the distribution of sculptural objects designed by Ron Arad and produced by Marzorati Ronchetti.
In the meantime Marzorati Ronchetti was developing, and at the beginning of the new century it embarked on an expansion policy by opening representative offices in different countries. These are currently in the United Kingdom, the United States, Norway, Germany and Dubai.
Among positions currently held: Member of the Economic Council of the Province of Como, Managing Director of Enfapi – professional school – and since 2006 Chairman of the Engineering Group of the Como Industrial Union.
