Ermenegildo ZEGNA

CEO, Ermenegildo Zegna

Ermenegildo Zegna has been Chief Executive Officer of the Ermenegildo Zegna Group since 1997. He is also chairman of Agnona, the Zegna Group ladies luxury textile and ready-to-wear brand.
Under the guidance of the fourth generation, the Group has seen its consolidated sales grow to Euro 779.4 million in 2006, whilst expanding its network of fully owned stores and franchise stores in over 60 countries to achieve global leadership in men’s luxury clothing. This strong growth is based on an increasingly wide-reaching portfolio of products and lines – now embracing formal, casual and sports apparel, avant-garde lines, shoes and leather accessories, fragrances and eyewear (the latter under license to YSL Beauté and De Rigo). The most recent addition is the new underwear line to be manufactured under license by Perofil.
Zegna today is the largest luxury men’s clothing manufacturer with a fully vertically integrated organization, from sourcing the wool on the markets of origin right through to operating fully owned stores - an all-Italian benchmark for the entire industry.
Ermenegildo Zegna is also vice-chairman of Altagamma (the Association of Italian Luxury Brands) and a member of the International Board of IESE Business School (Barcelona).
Ermenegildo Zegna has been on the Board of Directors of the Ermenegildo Zegna Group since 1989.
From 1986 to 1989 he was CEO at Italco S.A., which distributes Zegna products in Spain and also operates two clothing and shirt production facilities.
From 1982 to 1985 he was chairman of Ermenegildo Zegna Corporation, which distributes Zegna products in the USA and Canada.
Ermenegildo Zegna is a graduate in economics from London University (1978) and also studied at Harvard Business School (1981).
He was born in Turin on 30th September 1955 and grew up in Biella.
He and his wife, Elena Capra, have two boys, Edoardo and Angelo.
