Giovanni TERZI
Councillor with Responsibility for Production Activities, Fashion, Design and Events for the Milan Municipal Authority
Milanese since birth, Giovanni Terzi, Councillor with Responsibility for Production Activities, Fashion, Design and Events for the Milan Municipal Authority (after two years at the Department for Sport and Leisure) is a bright 45-year-old, cultured and full of interests.
He studied at the Istituto “Gonzaga” high school for scientific studies in Milan and at the Faculty of Architecture of Milan Politecnico, graduating in 1990. A university assistant until 1998, he later taught as adjunct lecturer at the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Pavia, working in association with various trade magazines.
His encounter with politics took place in 1994, when he decided to place his expertise at the service of the territory. He became Councillor with Responsibility for Urban Planning, Public and Private Housing for the Municipality of Bresso. It was but a short step from the hinterland to the Milanese metropolis. In 1997 he stood as a candidate for the Municipal Council of Milan and was elected, chairing the Urban Planning Commission. With the local elections of 2001 he held his seat on the Council, this time chairing the Environment Commission. In parallel he worked for the Ministry of the Environment, joining the Technical Scientific Commission and then the Special VIA (Evaluation of Environmental Impact) Commission. In 2006, on his third re-election to the Municipal Council of Milan, it was time for a breakthrough, with his appointment as Councillor heading a Department.
He also has numerous passions, from music to sport, to cooking.
