Beniamino QUINTIERI

Commissioner General of Italy for Shanghai World Expo 2010

Beniamino Quintieri is Commissioner General of Italy for Shanghai 2010 World Expo.
Born in Cosenza, he studied at the University of Rome La Sapienza, London School of Economics and University College London. He is Professor of International Economics at the University of Rome Tor Vergata, and Professor at the Luiss University, Guido Carli.
Since 2005 he has been President of the Manlio Masi Foundation – the National Observatory for Internationalization and Trade.
He is founder and national coordinator of the ITSG – Italian International Trade Study Group.
From 2001 to 2005 he was president of ICE (National Institute for Foreign Trade).
He has also been the Director of the CEIS (Centre for Economic and International Studies) at the University of Rome, Tor Vergata, and has superintended a Masters in “Economy and Management of the Cultural Heritage” at the same University.
Beniamino Quintieri is also the author and editor of ten books and of over sixty articles published on scientific national and international journals on international economy, public finance, labour economy and macro economy.
June 2nd 2005 he was awarded the highest honour, Order of Merit of the Italian Republic - Grand Cross, by the President of the Republic.
