Alberto BALDAN

CEO of la Rinascente

Mr Baldan took on his current role in May 2012. Prior to this, he was appointed Managing Director of la Rinascente in November 2007. He began his career in retail in 1987 as Controller for SILOS Hypermarket, a subsidiary of Gruppo PAM.

In 1989, he joined Continente, a division of the group Promodes, where he held different positions of increasing responsibility in finance, purchasing as well as store management both in Italy and Spain over a 6-year period.

In 1996, on joining la Rinascente, he was appointed Operations Director of Città Mercato. After the take-over by Auchan, he was promoted to Regional Director at Auchan Italy.

In 2003, he joined the PPR Group as CEO of Conforama Italy.

He returned to la Rinascente in November 2007.

Mr Baldan graduated in Business Studies from the University ‘Ca Foscari’ of Venice.
