Diego Della Valle was born in S. Elpidio a Mare (Ascoli Piceno) on December 30th, 1953. After studying law in Bologna and a brief working experience in the United States, in 1975 he joined his father in the family business, where he had the chance to widen his knowledge of productive skills.
He had a leading role in the definition of the company strategies and in the creation of the brands which identify the company’s products, developing an innovative marketing plan, which went to be a worldwide model, that was followed by many in the high quality product industry.
Since October 2000 Diego Della Valle has become the President and CEO of the new Group, Tod’s SpA, now listed on the Milan stock market, which today is a world leader in the luxury accessories sector.
In 1996 Diego Della Valle has been nominated Cavaliere del Lavoro and received, in the year 2000, the Degree honoris causa in Business and Economics at the University of Ancona.
Della Valle has been on the Board of different Companies among which IRI SpA, Banca Commerciale Italiana SpA. and Banca Nazionale del Lavoro S.p.A..
He is a stakeholder and a member of Mediobanca’s shareholders' syndicate; a member of the stakeholder’s sindicate for RCS; and a stakeholder for Marcolin, where he is Vice President. He is also Honorary President to ACF Fiorentina (ACF Florence)
He is also a member of administrative concil for Assicurazioni Generali, LVMH, Ferrari, and for the Compagnia Immobiliare Azionaria.
He is a member of the Comitato di Sostegno della Fondazione Umberto Veronesi, that promotes scientific progress, and is also president of the non-profit Consiglio di Amministrazione della Fondazione Della Valle, which helps disadvantaged teenagers.
