He was born in 1955 in Conegliano Veneto (TV). In 1979 he graduated in Agriculture from the University of Padua; he attended Emerson College in England for a year.
Back in Italy with a group of friends he opened Ariele, one of the first organic food stores in Italy.
In 1987 he was among the founders of Gea, a distribution company that then became Ecor S.p.A. and subsequently EcorNaturasì S.p.A., now the leading distributor of organic and biodynamic products exclusively dedicated to specialist retail.
