Catia Cesari is a Partner of Tau Investment Management, a leading investment fund in the sustainable value chain of the garment and fashion industry, based in NYC, Hong Kong and Geneva.
Additionally Catia is a non-executive board member and advisory board member of companies in the fashion and consumer industry, while actively supporting and investing in start-ups operating within the whole value chain (B2B and B2C) of Responsible Fashion.
From 2006 to 2015 Catia was part of JAB holding. As Chief Corporate Development and Human Capital Officer she co-led the creation from inception of JAB luxury, running the acquisition and integration of brands such as Jimmy Choo, Belstaff, and Bally. She then moved as SVP Corporate Development at Coty, Inc., a $9B NYSE listed beauty-company, whose major shareholder is JAB Holding.
In the early 00s Catia was Instrumental in the creation of Gucci Group in London, as Director of the M&A team under Domenico De Sole and Tom Ford, acquiring several brands such as Boucheron, Bottega Veneta, Stella McCartney, Balenciaga and Alexander McQueen.
Catia started off at KPMG before embarking on a decade at General Electric, where she was involved in structuring complex transactions and in integrating newly acquired businesses in the energy industry as part of Jack Welch’s Business Development team in the US.
Catia is FSA certified in the UK, a graduate of Advanced Financial Management Program at Kellog’s and recently earned a Non-Executive Director Diploma from the Financial Times School of Management.
