Sara LIN

CEO, Desmo

As a child, Sara was very imaginative and interested in everything creative. Her passion for detail and an imaginative way of combining colors set her apart from the average child and gave her a glimpse into what the future held for her.

Thanks in part to her parents clothing business near Florence, Italy, she entered the world of fashion 1997 at a very young age. While proceeding with her studies, her interest and love for fashion continued unabated.

A self-taught designer, she started work in research and design for a French brand in 1998, which is now distributed all over the world.

After collaborating and developing collections for several years with famous Italian brands, in 2008 Sara set up her own international brand of handbags and fashion accessories: J&C Jacky & Celine. Personally involved in every aspect of this project, from designing to brand positioning she took her company to the top after only eight collections. In addition to retail stores in Italy, the brand has it's own corner in COIN and can be found in over 20 countries including the some of the most elegant shopping centers in Moscow and Dubai.

Love of Italy and a deep connection to Florence came together in January 2010 with the acquisition of Desmo, the label noted for it's high quality leather and sleek style. Working at this level is an exciting challenge that is taken on with great enthusiasm and dedication. In addition to creating collections and customizing accessories there was the task of creating a new logo and developing a new image that is now Desmo,, now being brought to the international market.

In addition to attending workshops, training seminars and trade fairs her thirst for knowledge brings her to historic tanneries scattered around Florence. Not only can she can collaborate on issues related to the sector of leather tannery but here she also engages on issues crucial to a larger, global vision.

The eagerness to improve was also the impetus to seek cooperation with one of the great Florentine masters of pattern making. Well known and much admired, Giampiero Raveggi has worked with the best-known leather bag brands in the world including Gucci, Prada, Salvatore Ferragamo and many more.

Enthusiasm, initiative and dynamism have always propelled Sara Lin in work as well as in study. Forever setting up new goals, once achieved she looks for something else that will allow for growth in her profession as well as life overall. Her dedication to her own work is equalled to her commit to helping and supporting others. Such generosity is highly appreciated by those who know her.
